Chef Paul James of Ooloonthoo Restaurant is offering Indian Cuisine cooking classes for
food enthusiasts.
Why learn at Ooloonthoo?
Paul trained at the Stratford Chefs School in Ontario, Canada. He then worked in some of Canada’s most highly acclaimed restaurants such as The Church Restaurant in Stratford, Ontario and then as Sous Chef at Canada’s best new country inn restaurant, in 1989, Westover Inn, St. Mary’s, Ontario. After several years of honing his skills, he opened his own restaurant, Café Bruges, in London, Ontario. It was rated by Anne Hardy’s “Where to Eat in Canada” as one of Canada’s top twenty five places to eat for seven years.
Chef Paul has been exploring Indian cuisine for twenty years. During four years in India, he traveled and applied his skills to learning about the enormously diverse regional cuisines of India.

Groups of 2 to 8
Following a welcome drink, you will enter Ooloonthoo’s spacious air conditioned kitchen to put on your apron and get cooking! Chef Paul will demonstrate the preparation of a traditional Indian meal consisting of 9 different dishes. You will not only learn about Indian cooking techniques and mixing of spices but you will see how a professional chef would approach the task of preparing a dinner party at home. The opportunity to “see how a chef would do it” will help save you time in the kitchen. Also, learning about menu selection will allow you to prepare in advance so you can enjoy your guests’ company rather than being stuck in the kitchen all night.
